Takween was not conceived in a tech accelerator or venture capital boardroom — it was born from firsthand daily immersion inside working architectural and engineering consulting practices. We witnessed gifted engineers losing irretrievable hours hunting for the latest DWG revision buried in overflowing email threads, principal project managers spending entire afternoons decoding a maze of unrecorded WhatsApp client change requests, and firm owners watching their cashflow stall for weeks because completed engineering milestones had no automatic connection to fee invoice generation.
We recognized that generic project management platforms — no matter how sophisticated — fundamentally cannot model the engineering consulting lifecycle. They do not understand drawing revision control cycles (Rev A through IFC), deliverable-gated progress claims, statutory municipality permit sequences, or site supervision inspection logs. Meanwhile, traditional enterprise ERPs are rigid, slow to implement, and completely disconnected from the realities of engineering drawing workflows. The gap between what firms were doing and what was possible with purpose-built software was vast — and deeply costly.
We set out to build Takween: a vertical cloud operating system that speaks the precise native language of engineering consultants, seamlessly unifying project stage management, blueprint revision control, engineer timesheets, client digital sign-offs, and automated progress claims into a single elegant, fast, and intuitive platform. Today, Takween empowers hundreds of consulting engineering firms across the region to eliminate administrative waste, recover design revenue that was previously lost to scope creep, and deliver a standard of client service that genuinely sets them apart in competitive markets.
